But nurses and doctors can only do so much. Still missing medical accessories and equipment – one of Gaza Two CT scanners were broke there on Thursday – and many injured need extensive treatment.
Children are particularly vulnerable to injuries that can be caused by explosions in the dense living conditions of Gazas, experts say. Israeli bombing in Gaza, which began after Hamas led the October 2023 attack that began in the war, has wrapped even more people in close spaces around the area because it has moved people from the surroundings and cities.
Many have escaped to crowded camps in the south or to schools that have been transformed into shelters, such as hit by Gaza in the city of Gaza on Thursday. According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, at least 27 people were killed in the strike, who do not distinguish between civilians and militants in its accidents. Israel, as well as Palestinian civilians, have accused Hamas incorporating their forces in civilian spaces, including shelters and hospitals.
New York Times tested videos showed an explosion and its consequences in the shelter, Dar al-Arqam School in Tuffah’s neighborhood in the vicinity of Gaza. The videos showed that people who wear victims, children because of fires burned in the background.
Israeli military personnel said on Thursday it was looking at strike reports. Starting on Friday morning, it said that it still could not comment.
