Two types of Texas Pete hot sauces have been withdrawn in 10 states due to issues related to bottles and labeling, said Twarrer Food Company.
The company is located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
TW Garners issued a withdrawal of some Texas Pete Habanero Buffalo sauce and Texas Pete Sweet Chabanero sauce for bottles.

The company said the inspectors discovered that some bottles of Habanero Buffalo could be sriracha pepper sauce – containing sulphites not detected in the Habanero Buffalo label.
“People with allergies or severe sulphites risk a serious or life -threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” said Twarrer Foods Company in a statement.
Texas Pete hot sauces were sent to distribution centers and retail stores in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio, Virginia and Vermont. (FDA.gov)
The statement appears on the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) website in the product withdrawal section.

The company announced that it also resembles Texas Pete Sweet Chabanero sauce individual batches and sizes, because bottles “do not have labeled ingredients in age pepper (red habanero pepper, salt, vinegar).”
So far, no disease has been reported, the company said.
During an internal quality test, the company found that “Habanero Buffalo sauce bottles actually contain sriracha sauce,” the firm said in a statement of withdrawal.

“When reviewing both labels, it was determined that the Habanero Buffalo sauce may contain undeclared sulfites, as sriracha sauce contains sodium bisulfite as a preservative.”
So far, no disease has been reported, the company noted.

The affected products were divided from 5 February 2025 to 26 March 2025.
The company said the best date is at the top of the 2 liquid oz. Bottles, 20 oz on the rear label. bottles and above the cap 12 fl. Oz. and 0.5 gallons of mugs.

Products were sent to distribution centers and Retail stores California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio, Virginia and Vermont.

Consumers who have purchased any of these products “are called to get rid of (them) or return (them) to their place of purchase for a full refund,” the company said.
The FDA requires the presence of sulphites “declared on food labels when used as an ingredient”.
